Portraits
01.
Don't rush.
Arrive on time for your photo session to ensure that you have enough time to prepare and get settled before the shoot. This will also help the photographer stay on schedule and avoid delays.
02.
Communicate.
Be clear about what you want from the photo session and discuss any specific requirements with your photographer. This will help them understand your vision and ensure that they capture the images you want.
03.
Trust your photographer.
Remember that your photographer is a professional and has experience capturing beautiful images. Trust their expertise and allow them to guide you through the shoot.
04.
Enjoy yourself.
Enjoy the photo session and have fun with it! Remember that photography is about capturing moments and memories, so relax and enjoy the experience!
Special Events
01.
Communicate key shots.
Make a list of must-have moments, such as speeches, first dances, or group photos, so your photographer knows what to prioritize.
02.
Keep the area photo-ready.
Declutter tables and remove distractions from the background to keep the focus on the people and moments that matter.
03.
Natural & Candid Moments
Encourage guests to be themselves and interact naturally. Genuine smiles and laughter make for the best event photos.
04.
Plan for lighting changes.
If your event moves from daytime to evening, let your photographer know so they can adjust settings and equipment for the best shots.
Real Estate
01.
Presentation is key.
Try your best to declutter areas of the space that may need a little attention. Communicate to the photographer any areas of the property that you want to highlight, as well as the less appealing areas that may just need some light, love and decor.
02.
Home alone.
Inform your photographer of any potential guest(s) or residents that may be present during the photo session. They are welcome to "photo bomb" the images", after the session is complete.
03.
Furnished?
It is not necessary to furnish the home however, this will depend on how you want to market the home and who your target client is. Having nice, staged furniture can definitely help to "brighten a space".
04.
Time is money.
Be sure to confirm the anticipated timeline of when you will receive the images from your photographer. We want to make sure you meet your marketing goals and make this a valuable experience you won't forget.
Product & Branding
01.
Clean & Polished
Ensure your products are free of dust, smudges, or fingerprints. A spotless product ensures a sleek, professional look in your final images.
02.
Highlight Key Features
Let your photographer know which aspects of the product are most important—whether it’s texture, branding, or functionality—so they can capture it effectively.
03.
Consistent Styling
Use a cohesive color scheme, backgrounds, or props that align with your brand. A well-thought-out setup makes your products look more appealing and professional.
04.
Proper Lighting Preparation
Matte and glossy products reflect light differently. If you have shiny items, communicate with your photographer to reduce glare and ensure a high-quality result.
Food & Dessert
01.
Serve fresh and vibrant dishes.
Prepare food right before the shoot to maintain its best appearance. Freshly plated dishes look more appetizing and visually appealing.
02.
Consider garnishes and details.
A sprinkle of fresh herbs, sauce drizzles, or a dusting of powdered sugar can enhance presentation and create a more dynamic image.
03.
Use the right tableware.
Plates, napkins, and utensils should complement the dish rather than distract. Neutral tones or minimalistic designs help food stand out.
04.
Think about texture and steam.
Soft bread, crispy fries, or a steaming bowl of soup can look even more mouthwatering when captured at just the right moment. Let your photographer know if you want to highlight textures or warmth.
